Visiting two of Spain’s colourful cities, Madrid and Barcelona, students will take part in four intensive Spanish language lessons to improve their verbal and written communication skills through active participation with expert Spanish language teachers.

Ensuring that the students get the most out of their visit and deepen their understanding of Spain’s history, culture and artistic expression, their time away from the classroom will be spent exploring the main highlights of Madrid and Barcelona. Sights will include the incredible architectural creations of Antoni Gaudi, Arch de Triumph, El Escorial, Prado Museum and the Royal Palace.

DAY ONE

Take an international flight to Madrid where you will be met at the airport by your Haka Educational Tour guide. This afternoon you will travel to the royal site of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, located outside Madrid in the Sierra de Guadarrama.

DAY TWO

Visit the Royal Palace this morning, one of the finest in Europe. In the afternoon explore the Prado Museum, considered one of the most important art galleries in the world.

DAY THREE

Today you will travel to Barcelona. Enjoy an enroute visit to Zaragoza, where you will have free time and can see the baroque Nuestra Señora del Pilar Basilica.

DAY FOUR

Today is your first day of your intensive Spanish language lessons. Spend 3 hours with a local teacher before enjoying a fascinating bike tour through the neighbourhoods of Barcelona and marvel at many highlights, such as El Born, Ciudadella Park, Arch de Triumph, Olympic Port and more.

DAY FIVE

Continue your intensive Spanish language lessons. In the afternoon enjoy a guided walking tour of the Gothic quarter, the famous La Rambla and the impressive La Boqueria market.

DAY SIX

Continue your intensive Spanish language lessons. In the afternoon explore the best of Gaudi’s trademark architectural style by visiting the remarkable Cathedral of La Sagrada Familia, often seen as the symbol of Barcelona.

DAY SEVEN

Continue your intensive Spanish language lessons. In the afternoon you will visit more of Barcelona’s highlights, including Casa Milà, ‘La Pedrera’ and Parc Guell, Gaudí’s incredible and most colourful creation. This evening enjoy your final group meal together in Spain.

DAY EIGHT

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
