Offer your students an exciting Educational Tour of the North Island of New Zealand. Take in the breathtaking scenery and varied topography of this truly unique and diverse environment.

The tour will take you from Auckland to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua before taking a day trip to the most accessible marine volcanoes in the world, White Island. Your students will travel through the key geographical locations, such as Mt Ruapehu where your students will learn about extreme earth events and volcanic and geothermal activity of the North Island.

Arrive into Auckland, have an orientation tour of the city including a walk up Mount Eden, one of Auckland’s inactive volcanoes.


Catch a ferry to the volcanic island of Rangitoto for a guided tour. Then in the afternoon, you will visit the Sky Tower for 360 views of Auckland.


Travel to Rotorua where you will explore the geothermal wonderlands, seeing geysers in action and the immense power of geothermal activity. In the evening, you will have a traditional Maori hangi dinner and learn about the history of the local Maori people.


Today you will travel from Rotorua to Whakatane where you will embark by boat to White Island, New Zealand's most continuously active and largest volcano.


After a morning walk around Rotorua’s public geothermal park, you will travel to Taupo via the Te Wairoa Buried Village where you will visit the Museum of Te Wairoa where records of the Tarawera eruption are displayed.


Today you will travel from Taupo to Tongariro National Park. On the way, stop to visit the Turangi Visitor Centre to see the volcanic exhibit and quake simulations. Upon arrival at the National Park, you will enjoy a visit to the Whakapapa Visitor Center.


Today you will have a free day in the Tongaririo National Park to give you the opportunity to explore the area and do some local walks. Take on the the challenging Tongariro Crossing or enjoy some easy, shorter walks around the area which will all give you stunning views of this unique volcanic landscape.


Travel from Tongrariro to Wellington this morning. Visit the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office. Then take a walking tour of Wellington to see the fault line and uplift, visible through the city.


A morning guided tour of Te Papa, New Zealand's National Museum before departing home from Wellington.
