CAMP DIRECTOR & EDUCATOR
Miranda Satterthwaite is the Antarctic Academy Director for the International Antarctic Centre. Miranda trained through a range of NASA bases in the USA including NASA Marshall Flight Centre and NASA Kennedy Space Centre, visiting NASA Armstrong Centre and NASA Ames Research Centre. She has participated in two NASA Sofia Missions over Antarctica, and will undertake her third in 2021. Miranda specialises in Space Exploration, holding undergraduate degrees in Science and Political Science and Masters in International Business Law and Educational Leadership. She is passionate about filling the NZ pathways into the Aerospace sector to support the growing space economy.
Aerospace CAMP Educator
Anne-Marie Robinson is the Antarctic Academy Aerospace Educator. Pilot and United States Space Camp Ambassador to New Zealand since 1991, Annie-Marie has extensive aerospace experience, including flying the NASA Kuiper Airborne Observatory Telescope Aircraft out of Christchurch. She trained with Astronauts at the NASA Johnson Space Centre in Houston Texas and has attended over 10 Space Camps at the US Space & Rocket Centre in Huntsville Alabama. In 2013 she was presented with a NASA Exceptional Public Achievement Medal and since then has developed Kids in Space NZ Curriculum outreach programme.

Students will receive space suits on arrival at the International Antarctic Centre, followed by an orientation and an exciting and immersive 4D movie. After spending some time with a Husky Handler, students will research and design a lunar base!
Today begins with a Q&A session with an Astronaut before buckling up for an adrenalin-filled adventure aboard a Hägglund! Students will take part in an experiential Astronaut training, learning about space travel, including visiting the Storm Dome and Christchurch Adventure Park for a physical activity.
Students will design and construct a Nano Rover, before a talk from a Dawn Aerospace Guest speaker is followed by a Bee Bot or Rocketry Challenge. It is then time for graduation before a final farewell lunch with an astronomy expert and departure home.
