Manaaki whenua, manaaki tangata, haere whakamua. Care for the land, care for the people, go forward.

As a mission, values and purpose-led organisation, we care deeply about the impact of our experiences on both people and the planet.

We also recognise that as most of our travellers are educators, students and youth sports teams, we have a unique opportunity and a duty to educate and inspire the next generation.

Our commitment to responsible travel is under continuous development. We recognise that sustainability is no longer enough. Sustainability means maintaining the status quo, it means doing less harm which in a planetary crisis, is not enough. We are striving to transform beyond sustainability and into a regenerative force that serves people and the planet. Our journey is underway but we appreciate there is a long way to go that requires radical action and collaboration.

A few of our initiatives and collaborations so far:

TIA Sustainability Commitment

The New Zealand Tourism Sustainability Commitment aims to see every New Zealand tourism business committed to sustainability by 2025.

Tiaki Promise

The Tiaki Promise is a nationwide initiative to ensure all our visitors guard, protect and preserve New Zealand, for now and for future generations. We encourage responsible travel principles to protect our beautiful country.

We declare a Climate Emergency

We have signed up to Tourism Declares, a global initiative that supports tourism businesses, organisations and individuals in declaring a climate emergency and taking purposeful action to reduce their carbon emissions.

Animal Welfare Policy

Our new animal welfare policy developed with guidance from World Animal Protection to help change animals' lives, forever.

Travellers against plastic

We have pledged with Travellers Against Plastic (TAP) to combat the plastic pandemic by significantly reducing our impact - through action, education and inspiration!

Keep moving forward

Our work doesn't stop here. We are constantly looking to to protect our people, planet and place to build a better place for our rangatahi (youth) of the future. More to follow soon!

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS

  • We have a long standing partnership with Eat My Lunch, a social enterprise that provides school lunches for children that would otherwise go without. Through our on-tour catering and feedback process, every guest that travels with us provides lunches for two children.
  • Love your coast is our conservation partner that provides facilitated workshops and beach cleans.
  • Service Projects – we encourage and support all of our groups to include a service element into their itineraries to contribute positively to a local community engagement project within their location of travel.
  • Through our sport event partners, we work with Lazy Sneakers who collects reusable sneakers and distributes them to people for free so they can play, participate and reach their potential.

Trees that count

CLIMATE ACTION

Measure. Reduce. Offset
  • We have partnered with Trees that Count, and plant a tree for every guest that travels with us.
  • We are in the process of measuring and offsetting our carbon footprint.
  • Our ultimate goal is to become Climate Positive.

REGENERATIVE TOURISM

Our vision is to provide tourism experiences that contribute positively to restoring and regenerating nature, culture and communities.

Our journey is underway as we partner and collaborate with mission-aligned suppliers to create a network of experiences for our groups that travel globally. Examples include service projects to support New Zealand’s Predator Free 2050 campaign, native tree planting, women’s wellness initiatives & health outreach support.

If you have a regenerative tourism experience or concept, we’d love to co-design and collaborate with similarly-minded organisations. Connect with us to chat more!
