Hawaii is the perfect place to combine classroom learning with real-world context. This 12 day tour explores two islands, Big Island and Oahu.

Explore the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and see the results of past eruptions up close. View the local flora and fauna on land and by sea, as well as visiting local plantations to learn about their produce.

Learn about natural energy and sustainability, as well as current methods of nature preservation. Visit museums, historical sites and learn about the Polynesian Culture.

DAY ONE

Welcome to the Island State! Arrive into Honolulu and transfer by flight to Big Island.

DAY TWO

Today your students will have a guided tour of the Volcanoes National Park. During the tour you will visit the Jagger Museum, discover the Halemaumau crater and stop by Akaka falls.

DAY THREE

This morning you will take a glass bottom boat to visit Captain Cook’s monument where you will also have the opportunity to snorkel. Spend the afternoon at Lions Gate Farm to see the plantations.

DAY FOUR

Today your students will visit the Pacific Tsunami Museum in Kalapana, relax in the Lava Tree State Park, and enjoy the Kapoho Tide Pools.

DAY FIVE

Students will visit the Natural Energy Lab today where they will see some of the worlds most advanced research in sustainability practices and science. They will also visit the fascinating Imiloa Astronomy Center and learn about the night sky.

DAY SIX

You will fly to Oahu today where you will take part in a short orientation walk, before experiencing a traditional Hawaiian luau dinner.

DAY SEVEN

Visit Punch Bowl Cemetery and King Kamehameha statue on a guided city tour of Honolulu, then drive to a local pineapple plantation and learn about the fruit production process.

DAY EIGHT

Today students have the opportunity to take a surf lesson in the Hanauma Bay Nature Reserve and visit the Marine Education Center.

DAY NINE

In the morning you will take a hike up Diamond Head Hike for panoramic views of Honolulu. In the afternoon you will visit the Polynesian Cultural Center where students can experience six Pacific cultures as they watch music and dance shows and understand different traditions.

DAY TEN

Take a full day guided tour of the famous Pearl Harbour including the USS Arizona and USS Battleship Missouri Day today. Students will gain an in-depth history of what happened and why during their tour.

DAY ELEVEN

Transfer to Honolulu airport and fly home today.
